Is Wrinkle Relaxing Treatment safe?
Wrinkle Relaxing Treatment is made from Botulinum Toxin which has been FDA approved and used for medical and cosmetic purposes for over 20 years with no known harmful effects. Like most cosmetic treatments, some side effects can occur, some clients report mild bruising, very rarely some people experience a ‘droopy eyelid’ however this can be corrected or will fade in time. To reduce the risk of complications it is important that wrinkle relaxing treatment is administered by highly qualified practitioners in a safe environment.
Will I be able to move my face?
Yes! The ‘frozen’ look happens when too much toxin is administered into one area. We target small specific muscles that are responsible for unwanted lines and wrinkles only. So normal facial expressions such as smiling, frowning or looking surprised will be unaffected. During your consultation we will talk you through how the treatment can be used for subtle or more dramatic effects as you prefer.
How does Wrinkle Relaxing Treatment work?
When you concentrate, squint or frown, the muscles in your face contract. After years of frequent contraction lines and wrinkles form and eventually become permanent. Anti-wrinkle treatment is a natural protein that works by interrupting the nerves that make the facial muscles contract.
Can anyone have Wrinkle Relaxing Treatment?
Wrinkle relaxing treatment is a prescription only medicine, during your consultation we will ask you questions about your health and medical history to determine if wrinkle relaxing treatment will be appropriate for you. In certain circumstances we will be unable to prescribe wrinkle relaxing treatment for example if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What areas can be treated with Wrinkle Relaxing Treatment?
Wrinkle Relaxing Treatment is mainly used for the face. Forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet lines around the eyes, and the “11 lines” between the eyebrows are the most popular areas.
What happens after treatment?
You can carry on with your day as normal immediately after leaving the clinic, although it’s important to avoid anything strenuous for 24 hours such as going to the gym. Side effects are rare, but occasionally some clients experience bruising, but this usually fades quickly.
Before you leave the clinic at the end of your treatment, we will book you in for a free check-up 2 weeks later, so that we can review the results of your treatment once it has taken full effect.
